Ingredients

  • 1 pinch of salt 3 cups of water (750 mL)
  • 1½ cup almonds (150 g)
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract (2.5 ml)
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of honey or agave syrup (7.5 ml)
  • Optional: cinnamon or cocoa (no sugar) powder

Preparation

  • Place the almonds in a bowl and cover them. Let them sit in the water overnight. Q a few hours could be enough, but to prepare creamier almond milk, you will need to wait at least 8 hours.
  • Filter the almonds and wash them in very cold water.
  • Add the almonds with the three cups of water in a blender.
  • Blend for at least 1 minute or until the mixture is creamy and opaque. Don’t worry if you find any songs, they will then be filtered out.
  • Pour the mixture into the colander. When the colander begins to fill, lift it up and shake it so that all the liquid comes out.

  • This recipe should make at least 3 cups of creamy almond milk. Add a pinch of salt, vanilla and any sweetener of your choice. If you want, you can even add cinnamon or cocoa powder.

Conservation and consumption

Almond milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. On the other hand, do not throw away the almond pulp, because it can replace flour in other recipes, such as in baking, for example. Spread the pulp on a cake pan and bake it in the oven at 90 degrees for 2 hours to remove moisture.
